Skein Of Fates is a science-fantasy steampunk retelling of the Snow White fairytale, but with a major twist or three. The story is set on the planet of Nuetierra, a world of violet skies and flying jellyfish. Deanna, the young female protagonist, is a brown-skinned, Spanglish-speaking descendant of climate-change refugees from Old Earth. Her stepmother is the dictatorial Alcalde of Nue Bayona, against whom a revolutionary struggle is raging. The dwarves are descendants of tribal people brought from Old Earth, once enslaved, but now free and fighting against re-enslavement by their former tall folk masters.
Leslie Ann Moore is the author of the IBPA award-winning epic fantasy Griffin's Daughter Trilogy, and Skein of Fates, Book One of the Nuetierra Chronicles, winner of the 2022 Book Fest Award for Best Gaslamp Fantasy Novel. She is the past Vice President of The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society and a member of Costumers Guild West. She has appeared at numerous conventions and conferences as a panelist, speaking about her own works, the creative and business aspects of writing, cosplay, and fandom in general.
