Bible Verses for Reciting & Writing (Grades 1-2)

Childhood is the golden time for memorizing Bible verses and for studying languages such as Chinese. In this book about 70 kid-friendly Bible verses are selected for school children to recite and to write. These verses are chosen with school children of grades 1 to 2 in mind, and shall be easy for them to understand. The book is designed to help school children to learn Chinese through reciting and writing Bible verses.

For each verse, 2 to 4 Chinese characters are singled out for writing practice. To help the writing, the order of strokes is illustrated for each of these characters. The verses in the book are sorted based on the difficulty of Chinese characters with the easiest at the very beginning. Characters appear only once in the writing list.


Not all Chinese characters are marked for writing. Some are for kids to read.


To help kids to master writing, each Bible verse is also written in outlined font for the kids to trace the Chinese characters. After tracing, the kids are provided the opportunity to write the whole verse.


This book can be used as a complementary exercise book for kids at grades 1 and/or 2. Or, it can be used for kids' Sunday school in Chinese churches.
