Paulo V. Soares, DDS, MS, PhD, is a professor of operative dentistry and dental materials at the Federal University of Uberlândia in Brazil. His first encounter with a noncarious cervical lesion (NCCL) guided him down a path of research that eventually led him to found the NCCL Research Group and Public Ambulatory Center, for which he currently operates as the Coordinator. He is the coeditor of Noncarious Cervical Lesions and Cervical Dentin Hypersensitivity: Etiology, Diagnosis, and Treatment (Quintessence, 2017).
