John McDonald is the Director of Product Management for Analytics and Assessment at EBSCO Information Services. Active professionally, he has published a number of articles on collection development and information usage behaviors, with a focus on statistical analysis of data. He has served on a variety of national and international publisher and vendor library advisory boards, as well as on the Executive Committee of Project COUNTER and the Board of Directors for the SCELC Consortium. He previously held positions with the University of Southern California as Associate Dean for Collections, at the Claremont Colleges as Chief Information Officer and interim Library Director and previously as a librarian at the California Institute of Technology and Virginia Commonwealth University. He has degrees in History and Library & Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
