Dr. Van de Poll enters the field of poetry writing as an experienced ecologist and seasoned science writer. While he has authored and co-authored a number of technical works on the science of nature, this book is his first foray into poetry writing. He comes with a keen eye for the natural world, wherein his first-hand experiences across Central and North America and Europe has provided him with a wealth of knowledge about flora, fauna, and the nature of diverse ecosystems. With degrees in Outdoor Education, Mycology, Environmental Communication and Natural Resource Management, Rick has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level for over thirty years and has offered hundreds of workshops, seminars and classes in a large number of natural resource topics. As an environmental science consultant, he has worked in all parts of North America and selected locales in Mexico and Italy. He has undertaken and completed comprehensive ecological inventories of over 300,000 acres in 85 towns in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York.
