Letting Go

What would you do if you were granted your heart's desire--the one thing in life that you wanted the most--but then found out that you had only a limited time in which to enjoy it?
What would you do if you were given knowledge and power, even to the point of delaying death, but then found out that such a gift might cost you your soul?

A young man in Chicago faced the first question. At the same time and the same age, a young man in Boston faced the second one.

Years later, in Seattle, as both men approached mid-life, they began a ten-year relationship.
